A Distinguished Leadership Award as the Best Performing Vice-Chancellor in Nigeria for the year 2019/2020 has been conferred on the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Angela Freeman Miri by the Kogi Youth Forum for Good Governance, in her new office at the Felele Campus on Friday, 30^th October, 2020.

The National President of the Youth Forum, Honourable Alfa A. Ebune, while presenting the Plaque and Certificate, said the Award was in recognition of her sterling leadership qualities and achievements in Federal University Lokoja, as well as her outstanding contributions to the development of education in Nigeria.

Similarly, Comrade Maximilian Tashilani who represented the National President of the Nigerian Youth Congress stated that they had conducted thorough research on the Vice-Chancellor and found her worthy of the recognition. He particularly thanked the Vice-Chancellor for her contributions to the growth and development of the University since her assumption of office in 2016, while wishing her success in her future endevours as she completes her tenure in February, 2021.

In her remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Angela Freeman Miri expressed deep appreciation to the Group, saying that she was speechless for the honour done her in spite of the negative narration, spurious petitions to discredit her, and all that she has gone through in the struggle to ensure that the University ranks one of the best, not only among its peers in the country but also, in Africa and the world.
