FUL Committee on National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) Visits Management

Members of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) Committee in Federal University Lokoja visited the Vice-Chancellor on 31st March, 2021 to brief him on the activities of the Committee.

The Committee which was inaugurated by the Pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Abdulmumini Hassan Rafindadi on 9th April, 2014 has been saddled with the responsibility of ensuring the following: the smooth running of the scheme in the University by ensuring good services, quick service delivery system, harmonious relationships between the Medical Centre and patients, social welfare, trusted and genuine medications supply and proper record keeping.

Also, the Committee ensures that the periodic inspection exercises for reaccreditation of the health facility by the regulators (National Health Insurance Scheme) were fulfilled.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi alongside the Management Committee comprising the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Suleiman Audu, the Registrar, Mr. Usman Suleman Obansa, the acting Librarian, Dr. Lanre Mbashir and the Deputy Registrar (Human Resources Division), Mr. Benjamin Mswebwela welcomed the Committee and received their written report which was delivered by the University NHIS Desk Officer, Mr. Abdu Abubakar.

The NHIS Committee was led by the Chairman, Dr. Magnus Chinemerem Ogaraku, while other members of the Committee present were the Desk Officer-NHIS, Mr. Abdu Abubakar, the Chief Pharmacist, Mrs. Kudirat Nasiru, the Hospital Matron (i/c), Mrs. Mariam Yunusa, the Head of Medical Laboratory Department, Mr. Dogo Abdulahi, the representative of the Audit Unit, Mr. Danjuma Isah Jibrin,  the representative of the Bursar, Mrs. Barikisu Araga, the representative of the Registrar, Mrs. Foluke Musa and the representative of the Health Maintenance Organisation (HMO)- United Healthcare International, Mr. Tenimu.
