WHEN MEN PRAY! Today (Tuesday, 5th October, 2021), history was made in Federal University Lokoja (FUL) as the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi led other Christian members of the University to the "FIRST CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY PRAYERS ON FELELE CAMPUS" tagged #FULPRAYS organised by the Christian Committee.

The one-hour prayer meeting organized at the instance of the Vice-Chancellor became necessary especially as the University newly commenced academic activities and is in the process of settling down fully at the Felele Campus (Permanent Site).

In his short exhortation, the Chaplain Chapel of the Grace FUL, Pastor Olukayode Ajibade reiterated the need for members to put their confidence in God in spite of the daunting security and economic challenges, quoting scriptures from Psalm 91 in the Bible.

While giving his remarks also, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi expressed hope and absolute trust in God, assuring that the future was bright for the University. He urged members of the University Community to sustain in their prayers for FUL, adding that such prayer gathering would be held regularly.

Subsequently, prayers were offered to God for the peace and progress of FUL, including the University Management for wisdom and guidance, while supplications were equally made for the staff and students.

The historic event which took place at the Multipurpose Hall, Felele Campus had in attendance Dr. (Mrs) Sarah Dauda Yani, University Librarian; Professor Ozovehe Mike Ogirima, Provost College of Health Sciences; Professor Sunday Eric Adewumi, Chairman Christian Committee (who gave the opening speech); Professor Matthew Ola-Rotimi Ajayi, Chairman Chapel of Grace FUL Council (who took the Responsive Bible Reading); Professor S. E. Atawodi, Director Advancement and Linkages; and Rev. Fr. (Dr.) Paul Tubi, Chaplain Regina Caeli Chaplaincy, who also led the opening prayer.

Others were Pastor (Dr.) Abraham Peter; Pastor Shamaki Nuhu, Deputy Registrar, Admissions Division (who coordinated the event); amongst other staff and students of the University.
