CONVERSION OF FMC LOKOJA TO TEACHING HOSPITAL: FUL Management Receives Delegation from Federal Ministry of Health [PHOTOS]

On Tuesday, 17th May, 2022, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi and his Management received a delegation from the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) led by the Director, Department of Hospital Services, Dr. Adebimpe Adebiyi mni who were on a fact-finding mission to the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja (FMCL) and Federal University Lokoja College of Health Sciences (FULCOHS) on the proposed conversion of the former to the University Teaching Hospital.
 
The Chief Medical Director, FMC Lokoja, Dr. Olatunde Alabi, and the Provost, FUL College of Health Sciences, Professor Ozovehe Mike Ogirima mni were both on the ground with their team to receive the officials for the inspection.
 
It would be recalled that during a tripartite meeting of all the stakeholders comprising the Federal Ministry of Health, Federal Medical Centre Lokoja, and Federal University Lokoja which was held in Abuja on 23rd February, 2022, the delegation was constituted with a clear-cut mandate to visit the two Federal Government Institutions and inspect their facilities with a view to making recommendations to President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR for the conversion.
 
While giving her remarks after the inspection, Dr. Adebiyi expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness and promised to conclude their report that would be forwarded for the President’s assent. Click here to view more pictures
