The Vice-Chancellor upon assumption of office assured the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, during a courtesy visit that he would have zero tolerance for corruption during his tenure.

He reiterated this at another meeting with the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) of the University and charged them with the responsibility of working with his Administration towards achieving this goal.

While speaking with ACTU during one of their visits, the Vice-Chancellor told the committee how committed he was to the fight against corruption, and enjoined them to take the campaign and monitoring to a higher level in order to ensure that everyone in the Federal University Lokoja Community was made fully aware of his stance for honesty and integrity at all times.

To fulfil his words, the VC along with the Principal Officers Committee of the University set up a committee to develop a corruption prevention guide for the University. He went further to provide dedicated telephone lines to ACTU for the University Community and other stakeholders to report any suspected or perceived corrupt practices and other related offences to ACTU.

Consequently, the FUL Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit has been repositioned and empowered to carry out preliminary investigation, and where it is established will hand over such cases to ICPC for further action.

The University Community is hereby implored to take advantage of these lines to call or text the ACTU Chairman in seeking clarification or report such cases.

The lines provided to call or text are 08165076988 (MTN); 08081056758 (Airtel).
