Federal University Lokoja Zoo and Conservatory [FULZAC] was established in May 2023 with the goal of creating a safe enclave for the animals, provide recreational and educational services to the public. The 11 hectare conservatory is also home to medicinal, economic and edible plant species which are protected from indiscriminate and unsustainable use.

• To design school programmes that promote wildlife friendly human behaviours that would ensure harmonious co-existence of humans with other species of the environment
• To support, facilitate and conduct researches in the life sciences to improve animal care, as well reduce impact on the environment.
