The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, Professor Gbenga Ibileye, on Monday April 20, 2026, made an unscheduled visit to assess the ongoing construction of lecture theatre desks across the university.
The project, handled by Alhaji Sarafadeen Abdulrahheem, Chairman of Deen Group of Companies, is focused on producing durable and functional furniture to improve teaching and learning conditions within the institution.
During the inspection, the Vice-Chancellor expressed satisfaction with the progress of work. He commended the quality, strength, and finishing of the desks, noting that they meet the standards expected of a modern university environment.
In his remarks, Alhaji Abdulrahheem assured the university management of the highest level of quality and durability in the construction process. He stated that the materials being used are carefully selected to withstand constant use in a busy academic setting.
He further explained that each desk is designed to conveniently accommodate three students, ensuring both comfort and efficient use of space within the lecture theatres.
The Deen Group Chairman also gave assurance that the project would be delivered within the agreed timeline. He noted that his team remains committed to meeting deadlines without compromising standards, adding that the desks are tailored to suit the academic environment and long term usage demands of the university.
However, the Vice-Chancellor stated that the intervention forms part of the administration’s broader commitment to reposition the university through strategic infrastructure upgrades that directly impact students and academic delivery.
The ongoing installation of desks in lecture theatres is expected to significantly enhance comfort, orderliness, and the overall learning experience for students. See more pictures here
