On Friday, March 13, 2026, the President of the Federal University Lokoja Staff Multipurpose and Cooperative Society, Prof. Abraham Musa Peter and the executive committee visited the Vice Chancellor Professor Gbenga Ibileye.

During the visit, Prof. Musa Congratulated the Vice Chancellor on his assumption of office and brought up several concerns affecting the society's functioning and the welfare of its personnel. The university's leadership responded with a strong assurance of support.

Professor Ibileye, while welcoming the group, recognized the cooperative's steady role in supporting staff welfare. He praised their efforts during a challenging economic climate and assured the executive that the administration regards the cooperative as a genuine partner and would not take its concerns for granted.

Several operational and administrative matters were raised during the meeting.

The Vice Chancellor listened attentively to each issue and responded with both personal insight and a practical sense of direction, drawing, in some instance on his long-standing familiarity with certain institutional matters that predated his current appointment.

He restated that he is committed to engaging with the cooperative leadership at the appropriate time to work through the concerns raised and ensure a soft landing on each front.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic, Professor S.D. Musa, shared insights from his decades of involvement in cooperative societies.

He praised the executive's visit but also urged them to tackle their duties with careful planning and unwavering dedication. He emphasized that these two attributes are, and always will be, the bedrock of a thriving cooperative.

The Vice Chancellor closed the session by reaffirming the administration's readiness to work closely with the cooperative and assured the delegation that all matters brought to the table would be directed through the appropriate channels for prompt attention.

The visit reflected the kind of open-door culture that has come to define Professor Ibileye's administration since his emergence as the fourth Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja. See more pictures here
