FUL Vice-Chancellor Appreciates Newly Accredited Faculties, Departments for Securing NUC's Full Accreditation

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University Lokoja, FUL, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, on April 24, 2026, hosted Heads of Departments whose programmes recently secured full accreditation from the National Universities Commission in a thank-you visit to recognize their efforts.

The Vice-Chancellor commended the departments for the work they put into the October and November 2025 accreditation exercise, which earned full accreditation for programmes in Mass Communication, Computer Science, Education Mathematics, Integrated Science, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Sociology.

Professor Ibileye said the university owed the departments a deep sense of gratitude for maximizing available resources and ensuring a successful accreditation outcome despite funding and infrastructure challenges.

He assured the Heads of Departments that management would continue to address identified gaps through improved funding and gradual infrastructure support, noting that departments had shown innovation and creativity in sustaining academic growth.

The Vice-Chancellor encouraged the departments to maintain the momentum of excellence, stressing that accreditation success brings higher expectations and greater responsibility.

He also disclosed that directives had been given to commence admissions into postgraduate programmes in Mass Communication, while reaffirming the administration’s commitment to strengthening accredited programmes across the university.

Professor Ibileye congratulated the departments for earning full accreditation and assured them of the continued support and goodwill of the university management.
