Graduated MB. BS. University of Lagos 1969 with Distinction in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and as best student in Obstetrics and Gynaecology as well as Paediatrics. Won Janet Kirk Patrick Gold Medal in Paediatrics as well as E. W. L Thompson prize (cash) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Obtained post graduate qualifications, as Commonwealth scholar, from Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London (Member 1974, Fellow 1988); University of Lagos (Doctor of Medicine 1983); National Post Graduate Medical College of Nigeria (Fellow,1978); West African College of Surgeons (Fellow, 1979); Academy of Science (Fellow, 2004).
