FUL Medical Programme (MB;BS) Scales Through MDCN's Accreditation

The Medical Programme of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has scaled through the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria's (MDCN) accreditation, following the Council's second visit today, Friday, 29th January 2026.
 
It was a galore of celebration this evening at the College of Health Sciences, Adankolo, as the MDCN delivered the good news to the University Management. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, who was very emotional, knelt down to thank God for making this remarkable feat possible despite the initial setback.
 
He equally appreciated his Management team and the Provost, Professor Mike Ogirima, mni, and other staff members of the College for the success recorded during the accreditation exercise.
 
The Vice-Chancellor particularly made reference to the first visit made by the Council earlier in August 2025, and how terrible the verdict was. He was grateful to God and the Accreditation team for being objective and professional, and also for appreciating what the University has achieved within a very short period since their last visit.
