Zoological Society of Nigeria Confers Fellowship Award on FUL Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jacqueline Badaki

The Council of Zoological Society of Nigeria (ZSN) has conferred Fellowship Award on the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Professor Jacqueline Azumi Badaki, fZSN, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the development of Zoology and Science.
 
Professor Badaki was conferred with the highest award of the Society during the Honours and Awards Ceremony at the 18th Annual Conference of the ZSN held at the Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, between 25th and 28th November 2025, themed "Healthy Ecosystem: Path to Productivity and Sustainability."
During the historic event, Professor Adang Kombe Lucas, also from Federal University Lokoja, equally bagged the prestigious award as Fellow, Zoological Society of Nigeria (fZSN).
 
Until her appointment as the first female Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the Federal University Lokoja, Professor Badaki was the Director of the University's Zoo and Conservatory (FUL ZAC). The Professor of Parasitology and Entomology had also served as the Head of the Department of Zoology at the FUL.
 
Professor Badaki, while fielding questions from journalists in an interview by the Nigerian Television Authority shortly after the event, noted that Zoology has contributed immensely to Nigeria's public health sector in terms of disease control. Watch the interview here
