The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi on behalf of the Management of Federal University Lokoja (FUL), has sent warmest greetings and best wishes to staff and students of the University as Muslims all over the world commence this year's 30-day Ramadan fasting.

Recall that the Sultan of Sokoto and President General, Nigerian Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, in a broadcast on Wednesday evening, confirmed Thursday (today) as the first day of Ramadan in Nigeria, having received the reports of moon sighting from Muslim leaders and other organisations across the country.

In a goodwill message to mark the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan which was released on Thursday, March 23, 2023, by the University's Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr. Daniel Nwankwo, the Vice-Chancellor congratulated all Muslim members of the University Community for witnessing another Ramadan season.

Professor Akinwumi used the opportunity to charge the Muslim Ummah to show love and kindness to humanity and put the best teachings of Islam to practice as preached and exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). He equally admonished Muslims in the University to demonstrate the finest virtues of Islam, forgive their fellow human beings as they also seek Allah's forgiveness, and give generously to the less privileged.

While praying that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala (SWT) answers their prayers and rewards every act of Ibadah in this blessed month of Ramadan, the VC also implored staff and students to use the period to pray for the progress of the University and the success of his administration.

Ramadan Kareem!
