During the week, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi received in audience the new Commander, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Lugard, Commodore UCV Ajulu who was in Federal University Lokoja (FUL) on a familiarization visit as custom demands.
At the meeting, Commodore Ajulu poured encomiums on the Vice-Chancellor over the level of development ongoing in the University. He assured the VC of his full support and the Agency's readiness to partner with the Institution in terms of providing additional security coverage as well as collaborate with FUL on relevant postgraduate programmes that would enhance their capacity and performance.
Speaking further, the Naval chief expressed confidence in the leadership capacity of the Vice-Chancellor and his management team, saying he has no doubt that FUL is in safe hands.
In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, who used the opportunity to discuss some security challenges that the University is facing, thanked the Commander and his team for the courtesy visit. He added that the University looked forward to a fruitful and lifelong relationship with the security agency.
